COFEE FACE WASH: THE BEST FRIEND TO YOUR SKIN
With the beginning of march month, we start to embrace summer. However, no matter how much we want to embrace it, our skin kind of rebels. Thus, pimples, redness, blackheads, and oily skin.
Well, then comes Google and homely remedies to get back the glow that summer heat is trying to take away from you.
Now, what’s better than coffee? In the 21st century, the people are fuelled by coffee, be that be for keeping us awake to submit the assignment before the deadlines, or be it our skin! Coffee has everything that you need!
If you have been scrolling through Instagram or Pinterest and came across countless ads or pins promoting coffee-based face washes and exfoliators and no doubt as to whether to give the coffee a chance to touch your face or not, well worry not! This article is here to help you out.
Here, in today’s article, we are going to look into what coffee can do to our faces and how great is any coffee face wash!
USES:
1. Exfoliation
Coffee beans are grounded to make a great exfoliant. Now, what is an exfoliant and why do we need it? An exfoliant is a scrub-like substance that is useful for removing dead skin cells from the skin surface. This increases the skin’s clarity and gives a healthy radiance to the skin. The coffee grounds do not get dissolved in water, which is why it makes them good at taking away all the dead skin cells.
There have been many studies goings-on regarding the use and how coffee works on the skin epidermis. Research done in 2013, suggests that caffeine is an anti-oxidant and thus is responsible for boosting the collagen levels, thus reducing premature aging of the cells, thus giving the skin a natural healthy glow.2Sun protection
2. Sun Protection
As mentioned earlier, coffee has antioxidants property present in it. Thus, it can also help in protection against harsh sunlight and UV rays. Additionally, you will get protected from aging linked to sun exposure also!
This has been proved, according to some research conducted in 2015, that the people who consume coffee are more likely to have fewer age spots on their faces. This is mostly because of the presence of polyphenols (anti-oxidants) in coffee.
Therefore, applying coffee or coffee products to the skin, will deliver these anti-oxidants to the body and save the skin from harmful UV-B radiations from the sun, thus preventing DNA damage!
3. Reduce puffiness of the face
Many times when we wake up from a good sleep, our eyes and certain parts of the face tend to be puffy. This is mostly because of decreased blood flow in the face and the accumulation of fluids in those areas. Caffeine has this amazing property which helps to dilate the blood vessels and thus stimulates blood flow and helps the skin to naturally glow up in a maximum of 15 minutes!
You must be wondering how? Well, all you need to do is to ground the coffee beans into a thin paste and then dab it gently on the puffy areas of your face. Gradually after 10 min, you can feel the change in your skin. This reduction of puffiness or inflammation is due to the presence of chlorogenic acids in it.
You can also use another method, i.e., when you have coffee, keep the grounds of the coffee separated aside and then later place them under your eyes, eyelids, and the puffy areas of your face in the morning.
Puffy eyes can also be treated with the coffee ice cubes method with I have explained later in the article.
4. Acne treatment:
Some people say that coffee is useful in the treatment of acne due to the chlorogenic acid present in it in addition to the anti-oxidant property. Acne is a protrusion of the skin produced due to the accumulation of pollutants (free radicals), oils, dead skin cells, and other substances in the minute skin pores. This results in bacterial growth in those following areas and thus clogging the pore completely and producing acne.
Scrubbing with coffee face wash will help all the clogged particles and substances to wash out of the pore and thus unclog the pore. Thus, coffee is an effective acne-fighting tool that also protects the skin from some harmful strains of bacteria.
5. It increases the blood circulation
Coffee also enhances the circulation of blood in our bodies. This continuous movement of the blood freely in the blood vessels ensures healthy and energized skin. That’s why one can even add coffee powder to water and put it into the freezer overnight to get coffee ice cubes. These coffee ice cubes can be used to trace over the puffy areas of the skin, early in the morning, after waking up, to give a fresh glow to the skin and reduce the puffiness.
So, now you are sure that coffee does all good things to our face, and thus there is no harm in using a coffee face wash. Remember to go for a coffee face wash that has got the anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory ingredients. The coffee face wash is usually suitable for all skin types and has no harmful chemicals and is free of Parabens, and mineral oils.
Many brands are selling their coffee face washes such as HopeBerry, both of which are great for their function. They have a deep cleansing formula that foams and lathers on the application on the skin and are genders neutral. Cellulite is also reduced through these coffee face washes.
HOW TO USE:
- You need to first pour a small amount of the coffee face wash product on your palm and rub it till it lathers.
- Massage it gently on your face for a minute or two and then rinse it thoroughly with warm water.
- Do not forget to moisturize it to seal the open pores.
Remember to do a patch test on your skin to check for the sensitivity before going for the product. They are found in many textures, the most common of which are the gel texture and the powder form. There should not be any sign of stickiness and should leave the skin fresh and oil-free.
